Game Plan: May 2020

20200411112818_1

It’s the first of the month which means it’s time to get a game plan for next month. Hey, I like the sound of that…Let’s make it the title!

I can’t believe it’s May already. April felt like a long month but also a very short month thanks to focusing on Blapril. My personal goal for Blapril was to hit a post a day all month. I fell short on that by a few days in the beginning but I ended up with a decent amount of posts at the end. I always come out of these events with such a positive feeling about blogging. Technically, we have one more week to go as it doesn’t end until May 9th.

But it’s MAY! Which means it should start warming up here in Ohio and make this whole quarantine business a little less miserable. My job has extended our work from home arrangements until June so I’m looking forward to going outside a bit each day.

April Goals in Review

Finish Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX: I fired up this game up once to take a screenshot for this post. Otherwise, I haven’t touched it since. Most of my Switch time has been spent with Animal Crossing still since my wife is very much still into it.

Finish the Kingdoms of Amalur DLC: I actually forgot this was a goal. I thought 3 months away from the game was a big enough break. Turns out I need some more time away. I fired it up once, got to the DLC area, ran a quest or two, and never came back to it.

Start Tales of Berseria again: I personally blame this goal for the failure of the above goal. This was the majority of my gaming time in April. I had planned to start it but I ended up finishing it instead.

Read 2 Books:  In March I said I wanted to read Imaginary Friend by Stephen Chbosky and was hoping to finish Deadhouse Gate by Steven Erikson. Neither of these things happened. Instead I read Unsouled by Will Wight which was super fun and a very quick read. I’m about half way through Imaginary Friend at the time of this writing.

May Goals

Try Out TemTem: I bought this a few weeks ago after my friend picked it up. I put about 2 hours into it and haven’t touched it since. I definitely need to spend more time with it to see if it’s something I’d like to continue playing.

Finish Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX: I’m doing it this time for reals. I’m pretty sure I’m near the end of it anyways. I may dabble in the endgame a bit but more than likely I’ll be satisfied playing through the campaign.

Play More Animal Crossing: As I mentioned before, my wife is super into this game right now. I on the other hand have not been playing all that often as of late. This becomes a problem when I’m the Resident Representative. By the time we figured out you couldn’t change this without deleting the whole island we were too far in. So I log in to do things that only the Resident Representative can do and then log off. Mostly so I could get back to Tales of Berseria But I’d like to get back into it like I was at the beginning of April.

Read 1.5 books: I’m going to finish Imaginary Friend this month. I also picked up the next book in Will Wight’s Cradle series SoulSmith from amazon since it was free along with the third book Blackflame.

January Recap/February Goals

2017-01-14-183823

On the FFXIV front:

January Recap

  • After about 9 months and 300 hours later I’ve finally gotten myself through ARR. It’s not that I didn’t like the content or the story but I couldn’t decide what class I wanted to play, I had to try them all and after I found one I really liked and leveled to 50 I’d find another I  liked and start the process over. I really got to know all the ARR dungeons well after leveling a White Mage, a Bard, a Dragoon, and a Ninja to 50 before I completed the Main Scenario.

February Goals

  • Finishing the 2.XX content and getting into Heavensward: Its only been 3 months since I installed Heavensward, it’s about time I actually get to play it.
  • Level Monk to 42: I keep seeing that Mantra is a good cross class skill for a lot of dps classes. While I’m not particularly loving the pugilist right now it is fun to punch things and I’ll be using my Leveling Roulettes on this.

On the Backlog Front:

January:

  • I finished 3 games this month which is more than I’ve finished in a while. I now have Final Fantasy 1, Azkend 2: The World Beneath, and Risk of Rain under my belt.

February Goals

  • Finish a Steam game: I’ve been playing a lot of games on my PS4 and PS Vita but my steam backlog needs some love. I’m not sure if I’m going to continue with my steam games organized by game length or not but there are some games on the sidebar that I’d like to play so I’ll probably pick one of those.
  • Start Final Fantasy 2

November Gaming Goals Galore!

Kluwes A'llond 10/23/2016 21:20:38

Wow it’s November already. I don’t have anything clever to say about November, it’s a pretty boring month. Ok so I do love a good parade and the majestic event that is the Westminster Dog Show.  Now that it’s November 1st I’m sure everywhere will be switching gears to Christmas everything. Actually I think they’ve already started playing Christmas music, at least the neighbors have.

October Goals Reveiw

I played a lot of Final Fantasy 14 in October. I got my Dragoon to 50, I got my Bard to 50, I got and apartment, and I finally installed Heavensward. Everything else I planned to do in October kind of fell by the wayside. It was a busier time than I thought it’d be. I think I’m about halfway done with Final Fantasy

October Goals

Whoa it’s already October? September just flew by but that’s ok, October is one of my favorite times of the year. I can’t get enough of Halloween decorations, pumpkin spice things, and apple cider The weather get’s crisp, the hoodies come out, and the leaves start to finally change color. I can’t wait for haunted houses, horror movie marathons, and of course Halloween events in MMOs.

This month y goals list is a little shorter. After completing only 2 out of 7 last month it was time to trim down and look at what I might be able to accomplish this time around.

September Goals in Reveiw

20160904223438_1.jpg

Wow, I got nothing done this month game wise. Like at all. I’m not surprised thought I knew this was going to be a busy month of things in the outside world. I did do a few things I set out to do this month and decided to drop some all together.

FInal Fantasy 14 Goals

✓ Get Dragoon Soul Crystal: Hey I’m a dragoon now and it’s been a hell of a lot of fun poking mobs with sticks for the past couple levels

Get Monk Soul Crystal: Maybe I’ll come back to this some day but I just wasn’t feeling the game play of the pugilist and I’m guessing it doesn’t change a whole lot for Monk.

✓ Decide between Playing monk or Dragoon: Ladies, Gentlemen, this is the final rose tonight. I choose to give it too..Dragoon. Dragoon will be advancing in levels and hopefully getting into Heavensward one day,.

Complete the 2.XX content and get into Heavensward: Hahahahaha….I’m not even close.

Backlog Goals

Defeat the fourth boss in Furi: I think I’m done with this game, it was a lot of fun while it lasted but I’m just not into it anymore.

Get to the next system in No Man’s Sky: You know, the last time I picked up No Man’s Sky was 3 days after it’s release ad for some reason I still don’t regret the purchase.

Complete Unepic: What started out as a great game with a lot of RPG references turned into a mediocre game with too many RPG references. I’m shelving this one fr now and going back to my list of games on deck.

September Goals

Furi_20160807154310

This months list of goals is pretty short. September is going to be a very busy month and I know I won’t get in as much gaming time as I’d like to.

Get Monk Soul Crystal

Decide between Playing monk or Dragoon

Complete the 2.XX content and get into Heavensward

August Gaming Goals in Review

Furi_20160807153826

I’ve fallen off the blogging horse as of late. I think part of it is I just didn’t feel like playing games all that much the past few weeks. Instead I’ve been doing a lot of reading and spending the last few weeks of summer doing outdoor activities. But I always come back to gaming and I think I’ve taken enough of a break for it to be fresh again. As a result of all this my monthly goals fell a little to the way side this month.

General Gaming Goals

✓ Play No Man’s Sky: I had fun with this game for a few weeks. It was everything I wanted it to be. Turns out it just wasn’t quite as entertaining as I thought it’d be. Still planning on working my way through the galaxy though.

✓ Beat the third boss in Furi: I did this fairly early in the month and I’m still loving the game and it’s art style.

Get two more badges in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire: My Pokemon hype died in the first few weeks of August and I haven’t felt like going back to this game since.

MMO Goals

✓ Use my 5 free days in Final Fantasy 14: I managed to get my White Mage to 50 and my bard to 48 in those five days. I had a lot of fun and ended up re subscribing earlier this week and ordered Heavensward off Amazon. Hoping it gets here soon!

✓ Try out Neverwinter on PS4: Me and Jay put some time into Neverwinter this month. It was a lot better with someone I knew. It chugs along in places on the PS4 and the controls aren’t as nice as FFXIV but the action combat is fun.

Backlog Goals

Beat 1 Steam Game: Ya this didn’t happen but there’s always next month.

August Gaming Goals

Neverwinter_20160802082326

In my rush of excitement to get my post out yesterday I forgot to mention that I’m participating in Blaugust 2016. This being a post about goals and all I think it still fits the bill. I’ll be attempting to post everyday this month. So far two down and 29 more to go!

I’m fully expecting No Man’s Sky to take up most of my gaming time this month. We’ll see how manhy of these I get to.

General Gaming

  • Play No Man’s Sky: It’s almost here!
  • Beat the third boss in Furi: Still really enjoying this game.
  • Continue to play Dark Souls 2: My friends like to watch me die over and over again.
  • Get 2 more gym badges in Alpha Sapphire: Oh Pokemon, I forgot how fun you were. I also forgot that you were a decently long game.

MMO

  • Use my 5 free days in Final Fantasy 14: I’ve been itching to play this and you can’t beat free stuff.
  • Try out Neverwinter on PS4: Its new and shiny an I remember it being kind of fun on PC. I really need to pick a class and stick with it. I’ve been through 4 characters already.

Backlog

  • Beat 1 steam game: I’ve been slacking a didn’t really play any steam games last month.
